Like Air We Rise

Diana Argabrite and Pantea Karimi

Like Air We Rise will include artwork created in response to war and conflict with work about kindness as resistance and the empowerment of women. Both artists draw on family and ancestral history and reference war and its impacts and also explore healing and finding peace. 

Diana Argabrite explores themes around Jewish ancestors, war, and capitalism balanced with seeking 'glimmers' and small installations with give-away elements. Her mixed-media objects and installations include Czech glass seed beads, found objects, drawings, photo transfers, and embroidery.

Pantea Karimi draws on her family roots in Shiraz, Iran and addresses themes from war and the immigrant experience to the empowerment of women and ancient medicinal botany. Her art practice includes digital and analog prints, paintings, animations, objects, and installations.
